Jacarandas & Butterflies
Oct 30th
October – crazy wedding season!! How busy has it been? I love October and all the weddings as the jacarandas blossom in Brisbane. Must be why I got married in October!
This has been a special month personally as I celebrate my twelfth wedding anniversary and also find myself (courtesy of my wife Penny) involved in the RBWH Butterfly Ball raising money for research to save the lives of newborn babies.
In 2005 our twins Rohan & Evan Bell were born 8 weeks premature. Any parent of a premature child will tell you what a rollercoaster it is.
In Brisbane, there are two organisations that raise money to fund research into premature births. This research not only saves lives, but gives life. From our hearts, my wife Penny & I have chosen to support both these organizations – the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Foundation and the Mater Little Miracles.
Through our Mater Little Miracles Portrait Gift Certificates, we donate the sitting fee back to the Mater Research Foundation. The pack is a perfect gift for a newborn and is available at the Mater Florist.
This year, Penny also got involved in the organising committee for the RBWH Butterfly Ball donating our premmie story, our photography, and a “portrait with Marcus” to raise funds. Listening to her speak made me realise how lucky we are.
To see more images from the RBWH Butterfly Ball and their more recent event the “A Right Royal Affair” go to www.studioimpressionsphotography.com . Proceeds from any images purchased go back to the Foundation.
