Happy Valentines – Spicers Peak Wedding – Kim & Karl
Feb 14th
This morning, one of my 6 year olds hunted through our cupboards looking for chocolate that he wrapped in a bow & hand delivered to the 11 year old neighbourhood girl who has captured his heart. He drew her a card with lopsided love hearts and wrote “Dear Sharlit (her name is Charlotte), be my balantin“. I think he meant valentine.
It was such an honest display of his feelings, it inspired me to share a little love today. I picked it to share with you because even though it isn’t a Valentine’s Day wedding, it has a little of all that should be shared on this day. A romantic venue, a little champagne, a warm fireplace, some good food, a warm sunset & a killer view… and lots of love & laughter. Oh, & a cow.
This is the wedding of Kim & Karl at Spicers Peak Lodge. A really fantastic venue. Photographed by Mr Adam Finch. Just gorgeous.
A wedding is one of the few times in our life where we lay our feelings bare, in front of others. As a couple you are somehow exposed, embraced and protected, all at the same time. That’s what marriage is all about – opening yourself to someone else and trusting them to protect that. What a perfect day to remember this. What a perfect set of wedding images to remind us. Thanks Mr Finch.
Kim & Karl, enjoy your first Valentine’s Day as husband & wife, and we wish you a marriage filled with romantic moments.
Noosa Wedding Photography – Nicolette & Patrick
Feb 7th
Nicolette & Patrick got married at Noosa. Their wedding reception was at Sails Restaurant. I spent the day from behind my camera laughing and smiling and sometimes tearing up a bit. Let’s just say, it got to me, in a good way. So instead of trying to tell you the story of this wonderful couple & why I was so touched by this wedding, I’m going to let the images tell you their story. I hope you feel just a little of what I felt.
Nicolette & Patrick, thank you so much for letting me be part of your happy, loving, tender world, even for just one day. Your Sunshine Coast wedding, like you, was very very special.
Angela & Josef – Palazzo Versace Wedding
Feb 1st
Here is another outstanding wedding by Adam. The man just gets better & better.
Everything about Angela & Josef’s wedding day was beautiful. Starting with Angela. She was breathtaking in a Darb Bridal Couture gown with Louis Vuitton shoes. Her simple hair style gave her whole look a feel of easy, relaxed glamour. No wonder Josef is in love with her. Their ceremony was at the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove, followed by a reception at Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast, which is also where they both dressed for the big day. As if there wasn’t enough magic in the way that everything looked at this wedding, Angela & Josef sprinkled in a little more for good luck. Before the reception, their guests wrote messages of love and good wishes which were tied to a balloon that Angela & Josef set off into the sky – sending all those wishes into the heavens to come true at just the right time. Then, a magician entertained guests at the reception and set the tone for a life of magic and wonder together.
Adam did a fine job to capture the feeling at Angela & Josef’s wedding. I can’t decide if my favourite shots are the series of Angela dancing with her father or the series as she walks down the aisle toward Josef. When I saw those images I couldn’t help but think of that quote you see so much lately “Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away”. I think this is the kind of moment the person that wrote that meant – a life measuring moment.
To Angela & Josef, thank you for choosing Studio Impressions and for taking our breath away.
