Jacinta & Douglas Riverfire Wedding
Sep 16th
Riverfire, the ultimate celebration of this beautiful city we live in. Brisbane comes alive. Nothing beats it.
The only thing better than standing at the water’s edge, favourite drink in hand, special person by your side, watching the sky light up over the Story Bridge with all your closest mates, is starting your married life this way. A Riverfire wedding is something special. Jacinta and Douglas knew this and took full advantage, creating a wedding day that was nothing short of spectacular.
Given that this year was the “QBE Riverfire”, with the whole shebang sponsored by QBE Insurance, and QBE also happens to be Douglas’ employer, I was expecting that this might be a pretty amazing wedding. I was right.
After their ceremony at the magnificent St Stephen’s Cathedral, Jacinta and Douglas chose the perfect venue for a Riverfire wedding, holding their reception right on the Brisbane River at the stunning Stamford Plaza Hotel.
Jacinta’s dress and headpieces were a perfect mix of classicaly elegant and modern sophistication. I couldn’t help but reflect this in the images by mixing it up with some timeless, classic shots as well as doing something a little more modern in some new locations.
Thanks Jacinta and Douglas for giving me one of the best spots in Brisbane, for watching the QBE Riverfire and seeing the F111s fly our skies for the last time. Most of all, thanks for letting me be part of one of the most beautiful, memorable weddings. What a wonderful way to start your life together!

Alexandra & Sam
Sep 15th
Here is a wedding that I just have to share. I don’t often use the word awesome, I think it gets over used & loses its real meaning, a little like the word love - but this wedding – well it qualifies as truly AWESOME!!!
It is not often that Studio Impressions sends three photographers to a wedding. This wedding, this couple, deserved the best we could offer, so Adam & I both went & also took Aurelie as a third shooter. This was a WEDDING. A true, no holds barred, celebration of the love two people.
When I walked into the reception at Alex & Sam’s wedding it took my breath away. I thought sophistication, opulence, grandeur, TASTE. I hadn’t seen gold appear at a wedding for quite some time, but these guys, they did it with style. The Hyatt Regency – Sanctuary Cove put on its best face for Alex & Sam. It looked spectacular. Alex got ready in the Manor Suite, and they had the ceremony in The Grange at the Hyatt, followed by the reception in the ballroom of the Hyatt. Alex was beautiful in her Vera Wang dress with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and nothing was missed in the styling of this wedding, overseen by Jodie at W.edding & Co. Flowers by Style on Q and the fantastic cake by Ideas in Icing.
But the real beauty of this wedding was between Alex & Sam. You could have taken away all the gold and all the glamour, stripped them bare, and their smiles would have still filled every guest in the room with joy. Sometimes a big wedding can lose a little of the feeling in the sheer logisitcs of it. At Alex & Sam’s wedding, it was like the size of the wedding, the number of guests, the big bridal party, all just served to amplify their love. I swear there was some kind of energy filling the room that night, & it made you feel very very happy.
Alex & Sam, thanks for choosing Studio Impressions & sharing your energy with us. Here is just a small sample of the awesome images our team captured on the day.

Gold Coast Wedding | A Family Celebration
Aug 25th
I spend most weekends capturing the memories of other families. Just a few weeks ago my nephew Kris married his high school sweetheart, Shannon. It was a great feeling knowing that this time I was capturing moments that will become part of my own family memory. It was a very special day. Even though I love to have my camera in hand on occassions like this, the wedding of someone so special to me is also something to be part of (not just observing), so Adam came along & took the lead to record the day. It was great to just be able to be a guest at a wedding, yet still join in to shoot when I want, and especially still be able to do the location shoot. I’ve posted one of the location shots at Currumbin below. It was weird though posing for Adam in the family shots! (No you won’t get to see them). Thanks Adam for capturing this day for Kris & Shannon, and for the rest of the Bell Family. Kris & Shannon, Penny & I have loved watching your love blossom. A world of shared experience is in front of you, may your love grow more through all of it.

Sirromet Winery Wedding – Andrea & Anthony
Aug 24th
Just had to share with you the wedding of Andrea & Anthony photographed by Adam. This was a great wedding with lots of little touches and traditions that were a reflection of them. They had lots of flowers, a string quartet, Pacific Island dancers, and Andrea’s favourite band from PNG. And there were lots and lots of hugs & kisses from family & friends. Andrea got ready at the Marriot Hotel and their ceremony & reception were at the Sirromet Winery. Andrea looked amazing in her Elizabeth de Varga dress and the flowers by Julie Vine just set the whole thing off. Their wedding was colourful, warm and really special.
Adam told me a great story about how Anthony proposed to Andrea, that I hope they don’t mind I share. Anthony took her on a surprise trip to Melbourne where he had planned a romantic proposal. Trouble was, Andrea had other ideas about what she wanted to do in Melbourne. She wasn’t keen on going out to dinner or going for a walk along the river…every opportunity and idea that Anthony had, Andrea had another one. On the last day of their trip, after exhausting all options, Anthony just took a chance and proposed in a beautiful old Melbourne back street. Not exactly what he had planned, but he still got the answer he was hoping for.
Thanks for asking Adam to capture your day and for inviting us into a little bit of your happiness.
