Well-known in the global photography community, Marcus is a sought-after portrait and wedding photographer invited to photograph Queensland Governors, sporting legends and International Artists. His landscape photography has featured in several exhibitions. American Photo Magazine listed Marcus as one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world.

With over 25 years of experience, Marcus has shared his knowledge from private small group workshops to large scale keynote presentations to audiences in excess of 5,000 photographers. Marcus has showcased his approach to photography at some of the world’s largest photography conventions in Brazil, UK, France, Russia, Japan and the USA and shared his photography knowledge with even larger audiences through online education platforms such as CreativeLive.
Marcus’ work has been published in over 50 photography books in many different languages, featured on well-known blogs and in world leading publications including Vogue, Vogue Italia, Rangefinder, CNET, Renegade Collective, Smith Journal, Popular Photography, Junebug, Style Me Pretty, American Photo, The Lane.
An early pioneer of the fusion of landscape and documentary wedding photography, Marcus’ “weddingscapes” were acknowledged by many as having a significant impact on emergent styles in wedding photography. His book “Masters Guide to Wedding Photography” first published in 2006 has inspired thousands of photographers around the world and has become a vital handbook to photographers.
A Nikon Ambassador for 13 years, Marcus now experiments with a wide range of equipment including large and medium format, digital, and film cameras, re-purposed and vintage lenses, continuous and strobe lighting, to continually push his own creativity and the boundaries of his craft.
A photographer for more than 20 years, Marcus brings his life experiences to his work, and believes that each image is shaped by the unique way in which the individual photographer sees the world. As well as learning important technical aspects of photography, in his workshops Marcus invites you to move beyond technical knowledge and superficial observations to create images with meaning that capture the inherent beauty that exists in nature and in the simple moments in life.
