Both Adam & I have been lucky enough to have photographed several weddings within one family. This is one of the things I love about our job – really getting to know people – families. I know that some couples get worried about having the same photographer as their sister/brother/friend, but we’ve always found that having the same photographer doesn’t mean that your photos are the same (well it shouldn’t). Every wedding is different & so the images from every wedding will be different. And if, as a photographer, you get to know each couple as individuals, it is natural to capture their individuality in their images. I thought about this recently when I was looking through Adam’s images from Rebekah & John’s wedding. This was the third wedding in the O’Keefe family that Adam had photographed. He had captured John’s sister, Peta’s wedding to Michael, and then their brother Steven’s wedding to Jane. Three siblings, all very different, all uniquely beautiful weddings.
Rebekah wore a Wendy Makin dress and her flowers were by The Flower Garden. She got ready at Marina Quays – Hope Island before marrying John at the Guardian Angel Southport with their reception at the Boardwalk Tavern Hope Island. It was a crazy time for John & Rebekah. In the days following the wedding, they had to move to Canberra. Then, John was going away on assignment with the armed forces. So John & Rebekah, thanks for letting Studio Impressions be part of your big day. We know how important this time with your family was to you.
The family connection doesn’t end with this wedding though…. we are excited to say that Adam will be soon capturing portraits of Olivia, Peta & Michael’s gorgeous first child. Adam & all of us at Studio Impressions would also like to congratulate Jane & Steven on the recent birth of their baby daughter Matilda. Two little girls for the O’Keefe family. Watch out Rebekah & John!
