Professional Photographers of America convention , Tampa Florida
It’s always good to start the year with a bit of professional development – new year, new ideas, new friends. I spent January 2008 in the US sharing with and learning from other professional photographers from around the world. Here’s some pics from the Professional Photographers of America convention in Tampa Florida where I presented a platform talk. Over 10,000 photographers converged onto Tampa to experience the coldest day on record in Florida. What a great opportunity it was to catch up with some old friends and make some new ones. The one thing I love about this industry is that despite often competing in the same market, people are still willing to share their knowledge and experience. I am so grateful to name these amazing photographers as my friends.
A day with close friend Joe Buissink in his home town of LA
After 5 full days in Tampa for PPA and the DWF conventions, I had one day before flying home, to spend with close friend Joe Buissink. Exploring the great art market that exisits in LA was the highlight including spending time in Gallery Row at Peter Fetterman’s Gallery- offering some of the most exquisite photography prints in history. The talk of the day was Salgardo and his amazing life’s work. Joe is very fortunate to have an amazing collection of fine art prints himself and he has encouraged my own collection addiction that began about 5 years ago. www.joebuissink.com
